In January of 2009, Hawks Third Generation started on a build that would soon be the baddest Formula roaming around the Houston, TX area.
The car came in with a 383ci T5 drivetrain. Kevin wanted to keep the car in it's original black color but make it more sinister & definitely fast.
We started with a stock LS1 T56 drivetrain. We installed a custom camshaft & of course all the necessary components to make the LSX engine work in the 3rd Gen. We topped it off with a Magnacharger TVS 1900 Supercharger & a customer cold air intake kit. The exhaust is a set of our LSX Conversion 1-3/4" headers with a custom y-pipe and Mufflex 4" exhaust.
Suspension consists of all the goodies. BMR Lower Control Arms, Subframe Connectors, Panhard Bar, Xtreme Torque Arm Kit, Hotchkis 1” Springs, Spohn Extreme Duty Driveshaft, & Moser 9” Rear with a 3.73 gear & true trac posi.
The interior was upgraded with new carpet and Corbeau custom upholstered TRS seats and a custom sound system.
Boze Boost 18x9 fronts & 18x10 rear wheels & Nitto tires were added to get this beast rolling.
Of course a ton of other goodies were added to finish the complete job along with new custom paint.

A Letter From Kevin
Well I do not even know where to begin... First off, let me say that this car is "off the chain!" What started out as a simple LSx swap and paint job, turned into a first class pro touring formula. Your suggestions and craftsmanship helped turn this car into something special. You exceeded all of my expectations! This car handles great, stops on a dime, hauls ass, and looks bad ass! The engine bay is very clean and pretty much looks like it came off the gm assembly line with a blown LS1 motor in it. I like that you also gave the undercarriage the same amount of attention. Did I mention the a/c blows nice and cold and the stereo sounds awesome too. And I have to also say, that the paint turned out better than I could have imagined. Everywhere I take this car, people are blown away by the quality and look of it. The pictures on your website do not do this car justice. As you know, I live in Houston and there are many custom car shops out here. I brought this car to you because I felt you had the experience and ingenuity to make my 3rd gen into the car I dreamed it could be. Many people questioned why I would ship a 89 Firebird to South Carolina to have this done. All of their questions were answered once they set eyes on the finished car. Working with you was easy and fun and at no time did I ever feel like I made the wrong decision in choosing to work with you or your staff. I would definitely build another car with you in a heart beat. Thanks again for a job well done!
