This is a new Camaro or Firebird 82-92 Spohn Pinto Manual Rack & Pinion Kit.

The Spohn Performance Pinto manual rack kit is a 100% direct bolt-on fitment with a Spohn tubular k-member with Pinto manual rack mounts installed. It may also work with other aftermarket tubular k-members with Pinto manual rack mounts installed, but modifications to the steering shaft length, etc. may be required. 

Replace the very heavy stock  power steering pump, lines, etc. and really open up your engine bay and shed some serious weight off the front of your car. Spohn's brand new (not re-manufactured) Pinto manual rack has an aggressive gearbox (3.75 turns lock to lock) and will take less effort to turn compared to a factory power steering box with the power assist disconnected or an S-10 manual steering box. 

This Pinto manual rack features over-sized rod ends for the input shaft and a chromed center tube for a trick appearance. Unlike many other Pinto manual rack kits on the market, their tie rod end to spindle bump-steer adapters do not require you to drill out your spindle hole. The tie rod end to spindle adapters are CNC machined from 4140 chromoly and are machined to be a direct bolt on to the GM spindle taper. In addition, they are also on the car bump-steer adjustable. The tie rod to spindle adapters are fully threaded with double locking jam nuts for easy up-down adjustment that eliminates the need for spacers. The tie rod end set-up features 5/8 chromoly Teflon lined rod ends with 5/8 chromoly safety washers top and bottom for adequate articulation and safety. They use silver zinc plated 4140 chromoly hex tie rod adjusters for the ultimate in strength and durability. They also include their CNC machined 6061 aluminum rack clamp as well as all required mounting hardware.
This Pinto manual rack kit includes the complete steering shaft assembly. Spohn's  steering shaft features Flaming River chromoly low profile needle bearing u-joints that have a reduced diameter for more clearance and reduced weight and they do not require lubrication. Combined with a ¾ D-D steering shaft, the steering shaft assembly provides for a substantial weight decrease over the stock steering shaft and much more header/turbo clearance.
