Pedal set
This pedal set is an exact fit for my 1997 Camaro SS 30th anni.

very good, but needed instructions.
The brake and clutch did not need instructions, but gas pedal pad does. At first glance, gas pedal attachment seems to be a press fit, as your tech thought. There is slot in pin where spring holds pedal in place. Release spring first, then use pliers on large head of pin to twist pin back and forth, then pin will slide out.
