Product Description:

Camaro/Firebird 82-92 Subframe Connectors, Hard or T-Top, Single Cat or Dual Cat Y-Pipes.

Spohn's "truss-style" framing system is constructed of 1.75" x .120" wall tubing for serious, un-compromised rigidity. The frame rail connects to the front lower control arm mounting area and runs the entire length of the rocker panel, it ends at the rear side of the front wheel well. The main shaft is formed to fit the contour of the floor board, providing for weld contact area the entire length of the frame shaft, and no ground clearance loss.

They don't stop there. Mid-shaft they install a "Y" off frame that connects the main frame shaft to the beefy front sub-frame at the transmission crossmember mounting area. This provides for the ultimate in chassis stiffening by utilizing a triangulated framing design. The frame rails also provide for an excellent jacking point.

Put an end to squeaky dashboards, cracking body panels on t-top cars, and seriously enhance your chassis' handling and launch performance.

This is a weld in system that ships to you either bare, or with a brilliant and durable powder coated finish. If you've been looking for the ultimate sub-frame connection system for your third generation F-Body, you just found it!

These SFCs are designed to be used on a single-cat or dual-cat y-pipe exhaust system. Passenger's side main shaft necks down in the front to allow proper y-pipe clearance. No exhaust or floor board modifications are necessary to install Spohn's SFCs.

I noticed right off that the car was more rigid and handled better. Great upgrade.

    Did their primary job well

Did not reduce creaks or squeaks like many say these do, however I believe that's because my car has loose screws on most of its interior components. However they did make the car handle much better and feel much more rigid and stable. They also eliminated that annoying rocking back and forth feel that third gens tend to have when going down rough driveways (such as my own) and they made my car launch MUCH straighter. Before the car would noticeably flex at launch and cause the rear to slide far to the right but now traction is much more easily obtained and even if the tires spin the car stays straight, which is a massive improvement. The person who installed my SFCs actually had to fabricate special brackets to install them into my car because the metal where they welded in was bent up from jacking the car up over the course of its entire life (24 years before SFCs were finally installed). The fact that my car had been beat on for its whole life and is on at least its second motor (currently a mildly cammed 355 TPI) most likely contributed to the problem.
