I just got this for Christmas. I was trying to decide between this and the MGW. The MGW seems to be the gold standard within the f-body community but this looked to be good quality and I liked the price better. I figured that even if the MGW was a little better, this was still likely to be a big upgrade from stock. I wasn't disappointed. The fit and finish in person was fantastic. This thing is great quality. The install was straight forward and easy. I just took it out for it's first drive since the install and gears are easy to find and the throws are definitely much shorter. I like how much lower the shifter sits too. The reason for the 4 star rating instead of 5 star is that this shifter lacks the strong pull toward neutral between 3rd and 4th that I've heard others praised for. It's not a deal breaker for me but it would be nice. If I push it from 3-4 neutral over to 1-2 neutral, it stays there rather than firmly springing back toward the true center. Again, not a huge deal but it is what it is. I still love the shifter. I now have a white ball shifter on order for that old school look that'll match the white ext. paint. Response from Hawks: The springback will adjust after you have driven the car for a couple of weeks. When new it is very tight and takes a couple of weeks before it is broken in. You should then notice that great springback you are looking for.

Took a chance on this shifter after finding literally zero information on it outside of this website. I love it! Night and day difference from the original shifter. I was concerned about the angled handle being weird but it sits just right for my arm to reach. Build quality seemed well made too. If you're looking for a short throw buy this or MGW but this is 70 bucks cheaper and a great investment

I picked up a low mileage WS6 A few months ago that had a Hurst shifter that was notchy and difficult to get into 2nd and 3rd. The stock placement even with the Hurst shifter was also a bit too far away from the driver which made it feel unnatural to me. This Hawks shifter fixed all of that while still retaining the stock knob and boot. It's a night and day difference and makes driving the car way more enjoyable. The kit was very easy to install and the fit/finish is great. I think this is a mandatory upgrade for any F Body T56 car. The only drawback I can say was the kit didn't include RTV sealant and I didn't notice it in the instructions until I had pulled my car apart so I had to reinstall the stocker and run to the auto parts place by me.

This shifter installed super easy, and it looks awesome. Shame that know one gets to see it. Made my throw shorter and made the car a lot more comfortable to drive in stop and go traffic!

great shifter. even better than my pro 5.0 that was on my 5 spd. This shifter just went on my T56 in my third gen. Shipping was really fast and installation was easy. Love it and recommend it.

Great product very nice firm tight pattern Was very impressed on how well made it is and with made in America you can't go wrong. This puts the stock t56 shifter to shame. Now I don't have to search for the gears or worry about it accidentally hitting 5th when I need 3rd. Thanks very much hawks

I recently purchased the Hawks T56 Short Shifter. First thing I noticed was the higher quality than expected look and feel. Installation was easy and the bend of the stick is not too drastic at all. It looks perfect sitting in place. Nice tight spring and easy engagement. very crisp positive shifts and don't have to place stick into the gears anymore I just rip it up and down. Bottom line is I like this Hawks short shifter over a Pro 5.0 , Hurst, and Ripper shifters! Very happy with this shifter
