If your Hatch Motor has quit working, the stock/worn out Reversing Switch is generally the cause. The Reversing Switch is found inside of the Hatch Pull Down Unit mounted to the Latch assembly. It is designed to provide power to the motor to activate the trunk and then reverse the polarity to pull the trunk down.
This new reproduction switch from Hawks Motorsports is a direct replacement for your original switch found inside of the Hatch Motor Pull Down Unit on 1986-1991 Camaros and Firebirds.
This is the correct part number for 1986-1991 Camaros and Firebirds using the Hatch Pull Down Unit made using metal brackets. It is NOT the correct part for 1992 models that use a fiberglass housing.
